The tier 1 exam results will be in PDF format and will include the names and roll numbers of successful candidates. Those who pass this stage will proceed to the next round. The tier 1 results will be based on normalized marks.
Normalization is a way to make scores fair when exams have different difficulty levels. It makes it possible to compare scores from different exam sessions accurately.
- Normalization Process: Normalization is like a fair-play rule for exams. It’s used when some exam papers are harder than others. This makes sure that everyone’s scores are judged on an equal basis, no matter which session of the exam they took.
- Calculation Method: Then, we adjust scores from each session based on these averages. This makes scores from all sessions comparable.
- Equating Percentiles: Scores are converted into percentiles, showing where candidates stand compared to others. This helps decide who did best overall.
- Result Declaration: Once all this is done, final scores are announced. They include normalized scores and percentiles.
- Merit List: A list of candidates is made based on their scores. Those who did well enough move on to the next stage of selection.
